  • 30 cm high
the slender deep brown urn with twin gilt handles decorated with a central panel depicting a classical winged figure in white pate-sur-pate balancing on a wheel against a green field within a scrolling gilt foliate border, the cover with acorn finial, signed in pate-sur-pate A. Birks,  gold printed crowned globe, Minton and England, impressed no.1013

Condition

Good condition, a number very minor pin prick size holes to gilt finial, possible small repair to one handle

Catalogue Note

Albion Birls (circa 1862-1940) was apprenticed to Louis Marc Solon, and became known as the Minton factory's leading pate-sur-pate artist after Solon's retirement in 1904
