Jan Glauber was one of a number of 17th and 18th century Dutch 'Italianists' who worked in the classical landscape style of Claude Lorrain and Gaspard Dughet (also known as Gaspard Poussion).  This fine Judgement of Paris has all of Gaspard's balance and sobriety, but with a delightful, sprightly genre naturalism in the figure group.
