Catalogue Note

this cupboard and its companion piece (now in the collection of the National Museum in Canberra) were built into a skillion-roofed extension and fixed with iron pegs into the stone wall.  In all probability a skilled artisan working at  the property with basic tools under frontier conditions prepared the timber and constructed this cupboard from a eucalypt grown on the property.
