Wrought by Caroline Ward, August 17, 1824. The initials of her parents and 5 siblings are worked into the sampler.



Caroline Ward migrated to Hobart from Liverpool on the "Juno" in 1830 with her father Abraham, her mother, her sister Mary and her brother Thomas. Abraham Ward became the Publican of the Man o' War Hotel in Hobart in 1831. Caroline Ward married Edward Burris in New Norfolk in 1833 and her death at 19 was recorded in 1834.
