An imperial celadon jade washer

Qing dynasty, 18th / 19th Century

of oval section, the rounded sides set on four small flared feet, flanked by large projecting animal-mask handles with stylized tapir-like snouts, framed by finely combed scrolling manes and long horns extending partially around the outer rim, the lobed feet accented with archaistic scroll motifs, the stone of even celadon tone with a few light russet inclusions to the rim, wood stand (2)
