Condition

The following condition report was kindly provided by Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc.: This painting is in wonderful condition. The canvas was lined with glue most likely in the early part of the 20th century. With the exception of this lining and a small retouching beneath the hay basket on the far left side, there does not appear to be any restoration. The paint layer is quite dirty and will respond to cleaning. If there are any retouches beneath this old varnish, which is possible but not likely, then they are very minor. The condition generally is very good.
