Condition
The work is in good condition, the canvas is not lined, there is some visible restoration in the ear and in the background. There is some craquelure and some pigment loss near the bottom. Horizontal and vertical stretcher bar marks exist. UNDER UV: inpainting is evident to the neck and back of head. Three inch area of inpainting on rump. A few spots of inpainting to the background at lower left. Two inch long repair by right hock. Surface has an opaque varnish.
