Catalogue Note

This watercolour was painted as a pendant to Eve with her Net (Christie's, 7 June 1985, lot 272) in which a similarly lissome bare-footed model faces in the opposite direction holding a large shrimping net. Eve with Her Net was printed as part of a limited edition in 1935 whilst Eve's Sister Julia appears never to have been reproduced.
