Catalogue Note
The comparatively large scale of this work (100.5 by 40.5cm) had become a rarity for Weisberg by the middle of the Sixties. From the middle of the Seventies the artist settled on a consistent format and size for his works: essentially square canvases with sides approximately 50cm long. This work is characteristic of Weisberg's art from the Sixties, and is the resolution of a chromatic exercise within the framework of modern art's iconographic conception. In this case the work was inspired by the spatial searching of Alberto Giaccometti.
