Condition

The canvas has been lined. There is a layer of slightly discoloured varnish and fine lines of craquelure throughout. There is some light abrasion to the corners and edges and faint stretcher marks. Examination under ultraviolet light reveals retouching to the edges, som strengthening to the ermine flecks and a few spots of retouching to the face and background. Held in a carved gilt wooden frame.
