Description

  • width of cigarette case: 10.8cm, 4 1/4 in
each painted with an exotic nymph aux seins nus and wearing a feathered headdress before vine-strewn trees, the cigarette case with green cabochon thumbpiece and with large gold initials applied to the base, each dated 23.IX.1904, Cyrillic maker's mark OIP (Postnikova-Losseva, 1995, no. 2763), 84 standard

Condition

The match case in excellent condition. The enamel of the cigarette case has been lacquered, possibly to conceal restoration, and the lacquer is flaking. Both are nicely painted; the colours are more vibrant than they appear in the catalogue illustration.
