Description

  • height: 104.5cm., 41¼in
the baluster shaped body with two scenes painted in sepia, one of three young ladies playing with puppies signed Student of Vasili Kornilov in Cyrillic and dated 185*, the other of a gentleman reading to a lady, unsigned, both within shaped cartouches, the grey trompe l'oeil background further decorated with fawns playing pipes overlooked by cherubs, the flared neck and foot within foliate gilt borders, the base of the vase with cast acanthus leaves, apparently unmarked

Condition

There is some very minor wear to the upper rim but otherwise the condition appears to be excellent.
