finely painted with gilt highlights, the borders stripped to the gesso
Condition
The panel is bowed and lacking one strutt. There is loss to the gesso along the lower border revealing the canvas. There is some raised craqulure to the figure of Christ. Some patches of overpainting in places. The varnish has discoloured considerably. Rubbing to the gilt lettering along the top.
