Condition
Original canvas. There is a layer of surface dirt and discoloured varnish. A circular stretcher mark is visible and there are fine lines of craquelure in places. UV light reveals an area of retouching to the backgraound and the sitter's uniform and further flecks elsewhere. Held in a decorative gold and black wooden frame. Unexamined out of frame.
