the green lacquered blade mounted with openwork scrolls and a Mabé pearl, with workmaster's initials and scratched inventory number 5160, 88 standard

Condition
There is some evidence of craquelure particularly around the silver mounts. The green colour has faded on the upper side of the paper knife. There are losses to the lacquer at the end and very minor chips to the edges consistent with age and use.
