rounded rectangular, the surface enamelled in translucent pink over engine-turned swags within banded wavy borders, the lid mounted with a rose-cut diamond-set Imperial eagle, moonstone thumbpiece, with workmaster's initials, 56 standard

Condition

There is an area of restoration to the enamel, approx. 12mm wide, near the hinge at right of lid. Otherwise in very good condition, with some shallow scratches to enamel as expected with use. The enamel is particularly successful; the colour achieved is rich and vibrant.
