the shaped top with a gadrooned border, above an arrangement of five drawers on four bulbous fluted and gadrooned legs, and a matching chair
Condition
Good general condition. The fabric lining on the insert to the top is later and probably replaced a baize surface. One of the drawers has a later replaced section of carved decoration. One leg has a split through it. There are old marks and scratches throughout and many chips to the edges with some minor losses to veneer

A tentative attribution can be made to Meltzer on account of its similarity to a desk made for Nicholas II now in the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg.
