  • 74 by 55cm., 29 by 21½in.
against a gilt ground, the central register inset with a brass crucifixion, above a group of six saints and surmounted by a Deisis, the central iconostasis with twelve festivals and the figures of Our Lady, St Mark, St John and St Longin, the three tiers of the icon depicting: Our Lady, Christ, John the Baptist; Dmitry, Timothy, Anastasia, Georgy, Blasios; Peter, Paul, Dmitry

Condition

The panel is slightly bowed with two horizontal struts to the reverse supporting a vertical split to the reverse. There are areas of restoration to all the figures in the deisis, with further areas to the background. The gilt is worn and repaired in some parts of the background. There are some chips to the very edges of the icon. We would advise prospective buyers to view this work.
