depicted full length against an ochre and green coloured ground, inset in a later panel

Condition

The icon has been cut-down and set into a later panel. There are two struts to the reverse. There is a horizontal split running across the entire icon, 32cm from the lower edge. there is a diagonal split running down the head and torso of the saint. Evidence of 19th century gesso in central segment of robes. The paint surface is worn and dirty, particularly on the face.There are losses to the gilt and patches of overpainting throughout. We would advise prospective buyers to view.
