  • diameter 2 in. 5 cm
the movement constructed entirely of wood, with the exception of the blued steel hairspring, cylinder escapement, the dial demi-skeletonized with bone chapters with Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds, the back cover signed in Cyrilic Bronikof , accompanied en suite with a box wood chain and ratchet key, further accompanied by the original wood box.

Catalogue Note

S.I. Bronikoff was the son of a carpenter who learned to work with wood in the production of laquer boxes and spoons. Today, he is best known for his production of watches made entirely of wood. Bronikoff also made watches in ivory and was known to have won the the Honor Prize for Wood and Ivory at the 1870 St. Petersburg Exhibition.
