Condition
Oil on two original canvases, one of which is unevenly stretched. The verso of each canvas is inscribed in Cyrillic, perhaps by the artist's hand, with name, title, date, and the location Moscow. The work is covered with a thick and uneven layer of varnish. Minor flecks of paint have been lost, e.g. top right edge, and pigment has been lost in some places, e.g. upper left edge. Certain pigments fluoresce under UV and no repairs are visible, though the varnish prevents a conclusive analysis. Held in a simple wood frame with a slim panel separating the two canvases. Unexamined out of frame.
