Description

  • diameter 42 and 39.5cm.
one with central gadrooning, concentric bands and an inscription band, the broad border punched with foral and palmette motives, four piercings; the other embossed with a scene of Saint George and the dragon between concentric bands and an inscription band ICH WART DER FRIDE, the broad border punched with two bands of leaves

Condition

Dish with Saint George: Some minor wear, abrasion, scratching and stains to the brass. The rim slightly warped; pierced for hanging at 12 o'clock. The other dish: Some minor wear, abrasion, scratching and stains to the brass. The central gadrooned ornament slightly impressed; four piercings for hanging close to the rim; the rim slightly warped; one small (original) imperfection (ca. 3 by 2cm.) to the border.
