The actual painting is a bit softer in tone than the catalogue illustration suggests. The copper plate is flat and stable. Two tiny scratches are visible in the woman's face, upper centre. The paint surface has grown a bit thin in places, mainly in the brown tones. The paint surface is under a thick layer of varnish and there's some minor surface dirt. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals some minimal retouchings on the female nude and to the background area. Otherwise, the painting seems to be in good condition. Offered in a decorative gilt wood frame with a few paint losses. (MW)
