Condition
AJvO:Original canvas. A hole in the canvas of 1x2cm. just under the sash. craquelure throughout. The background has been sauced in. Filled in craquelure in the face and background. Small paintloss in the nose, to the right of the face and below the sitters right shoulder. Water stains to the reverse of the canvas.
SFXvO: The canvas has been relined. Two repaired T-shaped tears (20 and 10 cm.) in the sitters left arm and shoulder. Retouches in the background. Retouches due to frame abrasion along the left and upper right edge. The face (except for the chin) and white collar are untouched. Uneven remains of varnish.
