A Swiss Beromünster style marquetry inlaid walnut commode 19th century

This piece is modelled after a Beromünster commode, circa 1740, sold by Sotheby's Zurich on 11 June 2001, lot 29: The form of the body with its curved front and bevelled front edges as well as ebonised profiles and pressed ball feet show that this form of a chest of drawers was developed by Beromünster masters in the mid 18^th century. Further characteristic for this might be floral and figurative motif filled parquetry cartouche. Also hunting scenes are found on other supposed Beromünster furniture, whereby each figure is typically on a small panel with a cut out landscape of trees.
