  • diam. 18.5 and 22.5cm.
in later gilt gesso frames, comprising a portrait of the Italian poet Jacopo Sannazaro (1456-1530), a portrait of the Italian humanist cardinal Pietro Bembo (1470-1547), together with two larger portraits of Orientals

Condition

All four tondi with surface soiling, one of the Orientals with minor chip to the ear and a small half-moon shaped restored chip to the rim; the frames with hairline cracks, stains, smaller losses to gilding and gesso.
