Description

  • length of barrel 60.5cm.
the octagonal barrel of brass, lightly flared near the mouth, the visor and sight of steel, inscribed near the tang with the maker's name WEITRA, also engraved with foliate decoration at the mouth and tang, the lock fitted with internal wheel and hair-set trigger, the plate also of brass signed en suite to the barrel and engraved with a complacent soldier seated amidst trophies of war, full-length walnut stock tipped in horn and applied with mounts of brass, the patch-box cover also tipped in horn

Condition

Minor damage from worming to stock, engraved decoration well preserved, hairline crack to cheek piece, ramrod missing.
