Description
- A portrait of Maria Anna Josepha Sophia Augusta Antonia Tänzl, Freifrau von Trazberg (1757-1832), half length, wearing a white dress with the order of the Stern Kreuz
- inscribed with the name of the sitter and signed on the reverse: M. Jos Bauer pin/ zu Ratisbon

Condition
Portait of a lady: the actual painting is darker and has less contrast in the colours than the illustration in the catalogue suggests. The canvas is unlined. The paint surface is worn and suffered from dryness . Discoloured retouchings are visible throughout. The paint surface needs to be stabilized. The painting is covered with a very dirty varnish. Inspection under UV-light reveals several retouchings in the sitter's face and upper half. Offered in a plain gilt wood frame.
Portrait of two noblemen: the actual paintings are less bright and have less contrast than the illustration suggests. Both canvasses are unlined and loose. Both paintings have suffered greatly over time and the paint surfaces are in poor condition and need to be stabilized. Severe flaking and small holes in the canvasses are visible as shown in the catalogue illustrations. Offered in plain wood frames of which on one the composition is extended onto the frame, as shown in the catalogue. (JD)
