bound in black leather, applied with an engraved brass bullet case inscribed Das Officiers-Corps des X Jäger-Bat ons seinem scheidenden Commandanten Major Freiherr von Wulffen and in brass letters Erinnerung der Tage vor Paris, the corners of the cover each applied with four miniature cannon balls, part of closure missing; together with a pair of Major's epaulettes, with bullion wire, embroidered in silver and gold backed, with brass staff buttons at top mount, housed in a period paper case inscribed Majors Epauletten Onkel Emil Wulffen; also including a black officer's cocked hat with blue and white striped fabric accents topped with gold plated bullion wire decoration and trimmed in feathers, contained in a period case
Provenance
Emil von Wulffen (1806-1846), son of Karl Christoph von Wulffen and Friederike Amalie von Blumenthal. He was married in 1835 to Amalie Charlotte von Eckartsberg.
