Catalogue Note

Executed circa 1800.

The view of Beratzhausen shows the village on the river Laaber in the Upper Palatine near Regensburg, part of the Electorate of Bavaria since 1777. The following buildings are depicted: On the left the "Zehentstadl", built in 1599,  in the centre the church St. Peter and Paul, the cemetery chapel St. Michael, and on the hill the church of pilgrimage Maria-Hilf.  Schloß Münchshofen: The two-storey castle was originally a Renaissance building on the banks of the river Naab. It was transformed by the Naabeck family at the beginning of the 17th century. The chapel next to the castle was built around 1772.

Johann Georg Hämmerl the Younger was a member of an artist family rooted and active in the Upper Palatine.
