Condition

The actual painting is less yellow and bright than the illustration in the catalogue suggests. The single piece of panel is bevelled on all sides. Some thinness visible, especially in the boy's hat. A filled and restored damage is visible upper left and along the lower edge. A few scratches that run in the upper centre can be seen as well, e.g. in the boy's hat. The paint surface is under a slightly glossy varnish. Inspection under UV-light confirms abovementioned restorations as well as retouchings in the background and centre of the composition. Offered in a wood frame with painted embellishments, laid in with velours, in fair condition. (JD)
