  • overall 38.5 x 51.5cm
applied with gilt metal city arms of Petersburg in red and blue enamel, containing 48 silver prints of city views Petersburg (19.7 x 25cm) 

Condition

depart from usual wear and some slightly dicolouration all silver prints are in good condition. A very small tear of approximately two cm. is visible at the outside of the book. Otherwise is in good condition.

Catalogue Note

Prince Heinrich of Prussia (1862-1929), brother of Emperor Wilhelm II, was married to Princess Irene of Hesse-Darmstadt (1866-1953), sister of the Russian Empress Alexandra Feodorovna (1872-1918). Prince Heinrich of Prussia attended together with his wife the wedding of his sister-in-law which took place on 26th November 1894 at the Winter Palace in St. Petersburg. He was amongst the Royal guests who came for the funeral of Emperor Alexander III who died 1rst November and remained for the wedding. This album was presented to Prince Heinrich on that occasion.
