Description

  • length ca. 27cm.
one gouache painted and highlighted in gold with Venus and Cupid in a landscape surrounded by putti, the reverse with an urn shaped vase, the sticks silver and gold painted with a dancing couple; the other gouache painted and highlighted in gold with a fĂȘte galante, the reverse with a stylized landscape and flowers, the pierced sticks polychome painted and gilt with flowers, figures and Rocailles

Condition

Fan with Venus and Cupid: Smaller stains, losses, imperfections and wear, some yellowing to the paper; some minor losses to the sticks and silver applications, some minor soiling. Fan with fete galante: Minor imperfections and stains, some very minor imperfections and rubbing to the sticks; the paper leaf with some smaller old reinforcements, in need of some restoration (some folds torn).
