A pair of Napoleon III agate and gilt metal mounted oval bowls on stands late 19th century

one in brown, the other tinted blue, the ends applied with cartouches enclosing white plaster relief heads, metal scrolls to both sides, the foot raised on a stepped oval base applied with iron red agate cabochons and supported by six scrolls, one cabochon loose

Both with wear, losses and stains to the gilding and with (smaller) losses to the metal ornamentation, minor warping, some corrosion. Some minor scratching to the interior of the agate bowls. The blue bowl with one ca. 4cm. crack running down from the rim (hardly visible); the brown bowl with a few smaller (hardly visible) cracks running down the rim, one cabochon at the base loose but available.
