Description

  • height 85cm., width 130cm., depth 66cm.
the shaped marble top above three drawers and two long drawers below, the bombé front and sides finely veneered with figured kingwood, a fillet of fluted brass inlaid and below drawers and across the shoulder of the sides, applied with voluminous mounts of bronze, probably gilt

Condition

The front bleached and with minor stained spots, veneer losses and fine hairline cracks, the sides with cracks, hairline cracks and veneer losses. Left back leg damaged and misses veneer. The mounts oxidised dark, gilding rubbed. The top with repaired cracks and rim frittings (chips). Attractive commode but needs a bit of help.
