Description

  • A portrait of a lady, half length, wearing a white dress decorated with flowers
  • oil on canvas
  • 79 by 62.5 cm.

Condition

The actual painting is a bit warmer in tone than the illustration in the catalogue suggests. The canvas has been relined. The paint surface is revealed under a thick layer of varnish, as well as under a layer of dirt. The paint surface is slightly worn in places, mainly in the green colouring. Otherwise, the paint surface seems to be in good condition. There is possibly some old restoration, e.g. left of the woman's face, but inspection under ultra violet light is impeded by a thick layer of varnish. Offered in a decorative carved gilt wood frame.
