Condition
The actual painting is more yellow in tone that the illustration in the catalogue suggests. The panel consists of one plank, which is slightly bowed and is bevelled on all sides. There is one small dent in the sky, close to the left edge and another small dent close to the right edge in the smoke. There are a few tiny scratches to the lower left edge. There is minor frame abrasion to the upper and right edge. Otherwise the painting is in good condition. The paint surface is under a discolored layer of varnish as well as under a fine layer of dirt. Inspection under ultra violet light is impeded by the dirty varnish layer. Offered in a decorative gold painted wooden frame, in good condition. (MW)
