Description

  • Paul Klee
  • Kopf (Bartiger Mann) (K. 98 B/b)
  • 222 by 150 mm 8 3/4 by 5 7/8 in
Lithograph, 1925, signed in pencil, from the total edition of 262, printed by Felsing, published by O.W. Gauss, Munich, 1930, on cream wove paper, with full margins, in good condition apart from mat stain, a soft vertical crease through the image, just right of the subject, framed

Condition

The paper tone is unevenly darkened by a mat - there is a 2 inch wide band of discoloration in a perimeter around the image. This is disguised by the current mat. There is a soft vertical crease extending through the sheet, about 1 inch to the right of the man's head. There are additional handling creases in the sheet.
