Soft-ground etching, c. 1890, with the stamped signature, on wove paper, with full margins, in good condition except the margins with significant mat stain, tiny fox marks throughout, framed
Condition
The image itself is in good condition but the margins are severely darkened by exposure to a previous (acidic) mat. The discoloration is darkest at the mat opening and along the sheet edges. There are lighter areas where tape on the underside of the mat protected the sheet. Upon close inspection you can see tiny fox marks scattered throughout the margins.
