Description

  • Marc Chagall (After)
  • Le Cheval Rouge
  • 440 by 532 mm 17 1/4 by 20 15/16 in
Collotype printed in colors, c. 1965, signed in blue ink and numbered 291/300, on wove paper, with the blindstamp of the publisher, Guy Spitzer, Paris, with wide margins, generally in good condition except the print laid down to card, the signature and the numbering partially faded, the margins with remains of adhesive and discoloration, light- and mat stain, framed

Condition

The print is generally in good condition. Exposure to light has darkened the paper tone slightly and caused the signature and numbering to fade where exposed. The entire sheet is glued down to card and glued in the margins recto to the front mat. Where the front mat is lifting off, remains of adhesive and cardboard can be seen. The margins are further disoclored by pale mat stain and surface soiling.
