The complete portfolio, comprising six etchings, each signed in pencil, from the edition of approximately 500, published by the New Republic, New York, 1924, on Van Gelder Zonen paper, in good condition apart from creasing at the sheet edges, the Marin with two 3/4-inch tears with an associated crease in the upper margin, occasional pale foxing and light surface soiling, contained in the original brown paper folder (worn, lacking the lower flap) (6 prints)
Condition
The condition for the individual prints is as follows:
Hopper: There is creasing at the sheet edges, approximately 1/4-inch into the sheet on all sides. There is pale scattered foxing in the margins, with some light surface soiling.
Marin: There are two 3/4-inch tears in the upper margin, with an attendant 1 1/2-inch crease. There is pale discoloration in the margins, along with a few fox marks.
Sloan: There is a rectangular area of discoloration at lower left, which extends into the image. There are several stains in the lower margin, and a few pale fox marks.
Bacon: There is creasing at the sheet edges, approximately 1/4-inch into the sheet at upper right and lower left. There is pale discoloration in the margins, along with some scattered foxing.
Haskell: There is creasing at the sheet edges, approximately 1/4-inch into the sheet at the upper and lower sheet edges. There is pale staining in the lower right margin corner, and a few scattered foxmarks throughout the sheet.
Miller: The sheet is discolored throughout and there are some pale fox marks in the margins.
The paper wrapper is worn and is lacking the lower flap.
