Description

  • Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec
  • L'Artisan Moderne (D. 350; W. P24; ADR. 59)
  • 880 by 627 mm 34 5/8 by 24 5/8 in
Lithograph printed in colors, 1895, second state (of four), with letters, printed by Bourgerie & Cie., on wove paper, generally in good condition apart from tears in the sheet (some touched-in), light-stain, Japan-backed, framed

Condition

The print is generally in good condition. Tears are extensive and throughout the sheet (mainly at bottom and right), with a few additional at the sheet edges. Most are inconspicious and in the unprinted areas, and a few are touched-in. All have been stabilized by the japan backing. The paper tone has darkened due to light-stain and some surface soiling. There is a vertical line of graphite running the length of the right margin, suggesting a prior attempt at trimming the sheet.
