The complete portfolio, comprising 58 aquatints, 1922-27, with title, preface by the artist, list of plates and justification, numbered 372, from the edition of 425 (total edition includes 25 hors commerce copies), printed by Jacquemin for Vollard, published by Editions l'Etoile Filante, 1948, on Arches laid paper, with full margins, in good condition apart from foxing and pale staining in the first few and last few pages, pale discoloration and foxing at the sheet edges, a few plates with pale discoloration in the image, contained in the original orange linen-covered portfolio with metal clasp) (the spine worn and splitting)
Condition
The portfolio is generally in good condition overall. The first few plates and last few plates have pale staining and foxing throughout. There is time stain along the sheet edges of many of the prints, some with an occasional stray fox mark. The spine has pale surface soiling througout, and is beginning to split at the corners.
