Etching, 1905, from Les Saltimbanques, from the total edition of 250, on Van Gelder Zonen wove paper, with full margins, generally in good condition apart from mottled discoloration in the margins, remains of adhesive staining at the upper sheet edge verso showing through to the recto, framed

Condition

The print is generally in good condition. It has been conserved to reverse a probable prior adhesion to a front mat and the area just outside the plate is unevenly discolored due to the use of glue. This has also faded and smudged the blue collector's stamp (not in Lugt) at lower left. The remaining margins are darkened by mat stain and a few fox marks. The upper sheet edge verso has two 2 inch horizontal areas which are stained a dark brown due to prior hinges; this staining is visible on the recto.
