Etching printed in dark brown, 1889, a superlative impression of an intermediate state between Kennedy's first and second states (of two) (there is an impression prior to Kennedy's first state in the Hunterian Art Gallery, University of Glasgow), with the figures in the window not completely burnished out but with the rays of light enlarged, signed in pencil with the butterfly on the tab, with two additional butterflies in pencil on the verso and inscribed 'Chs Freer', 'Before figures' and 'for Wünderlich', on thin Japan paper, in good condition
