Description

  • Bill Brandt
  • Cemetery, 1930s
Vintage silver print  bearing Brandt's inked stamp upon the reverse, as well as two of the address stamps of his early years in London. The print is titled 'Tombeau en Angleterre' (in French) in ink, also on the reverse, in the author's hand.

Condition

The print is mounted upon a light paper surround, and the adhesive has rippled very slightly along the left margin. Elsewhere, very light stress marks are spread about the surface, but the print is in fine condition overall.

Catalogue Note

The fantasy of a deep dive to Dis is irresistible, and perfectly in tune with Brandt's gently surreal disposition.
