Description
- Constantin Brancusi
- Flower Study, n.d.
Silver print. The reverse bears by way of identification the artist's monogrammatic sketch in ink of his famous sculpture The Kiss.
Condition
The surface is fairly heavily marked, with notably a series of indentations of c. 1mm each, above the mid-height, near the right edge. These are deep dents, but they have not broken the emulsion. The emulsion has been broken, however, in several areas of longitudinal cracking, notably in the area between the uppermost and left-most tendrils of the plant. The longest of these is c. 5cm. Slight losses, too, along chipped edges, and the corners are cracked. In addition, the print surface bears finger marks in abundance and would benefit from professional cleaning.
