Description

  • Heinz Hajek-Halke
  • Akt-Komposition, 1930
Vintage silver print, signed in ink and dated in blue pencil on the reverse. The reverse also bears three photographer's stamps, a copyright and an estate stamp, and a label with typewritten title.

Literature

Hajek-Halke, H. 2006 p. 119.

Condition

The print has a glossy surface. A considerable number of stress marks are visible on the surface of this print. Most are slight, but one situated in the upper right shoulder of the left figure is more severe. In addition, a 3mm circular retouch (done to a less than professional standard) lies visible in the middle of an area of damage in the hip of the same figure. Other retouches, none larger than 1mm, bespeckle the surface. Furthermore, pressure marks of handwriting on the reverse are clearly visible in the lower third of the image. Corners and edges are chipped, including slight losses of emulsion in several places. This extensive list of defects should not however be taken as describing a print in poor condition.
