Description

  • Peter Beard
  • 'Loliondo Lion Charge', for The End of the Game, 1964
Sepia toned silver print, ink and paint illustrations. Signed and titled in white gouache on the image. Framed.

Provenance

The Time Is Always Now Gallery, New York.

Condition

Not examined out of frame. This print shows wear consistent with its unusual method of production. Because no large scale wash has been applied, this print is less buckled than many by the artist, although of course the surface is not as flat as we would expect for a photograph produced by more normal methods. The lower right hand corner is missing a piece approx. 6cm by 0.5cm. Stress marks are visible as usual with this artist. The central photographic part has a good surface and is in good condition. The lower left corner has suffered from some creasing. Overall this print is in excellent condition given its unusual method of production.
