Make My Night continues the exploration of masculinity that the artist began in Artist's Rifles, the series which explored his own reasons for joining the army as a young man.  In Make My Night, Smith takes each part in a Hogarthian account of an exaggeratedly laddish evening out.  In one view, incidentally, he wears a shirt by his elder namesake, the designer Paul Smith, which acts as a neat signature for that image.
